Hello everyone,
this might be a silly question...
We want to have the look of a natural stone wall behind our soapstone stove.
As an alternative to the "classic" stones for gluing, we have now also discovered a photo wallpaper with a matching appearance.
Are photo wallpapers generally possible or advisable behind a stove?
We are concerned that the radiant heat from the stove might cause damage or discoloration to the photo wallpaper...
Best regards,
Dirk

I’m not sure if that’s a good idea for a new house: photo wallpaper can create an interesting effect and enhance the room if it’s clearly recognized as wallpaper. But a stone appearance can look cheap.Hmm, you’re probably right about that...
So it will most likely be a real stone feature wall after all.
Thanks for the replies!!!

I would use natural stone veneer panels... Me too
There are these veneer panels available at hardware stores, already cut to 10cm x 60cm (4 inches x 24 inches), either slate or quartz stone... both have their advantages.
However, I would pay attention to the thickness of the panels, as there are differences – I would avoid those thicker than 4cm (1.5 inches), the approximately 2cm (0.8 inches) ones are better if it’s just a small section of wall.
We covered an entire wall with them inside a residential unit.
