Hello forum,

I would like to tile a wall in the hallway halfway up. I have small tiles measuring 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches). I have never tiled before, so I have no experience. Nevertheless, I would like to give it a try.

How should I finish the top edge of the tiled wall? It will be at about 120 cm (47 inches) high. Should I use one of those edge trim strips that you often see in bathrooms? Wouldn’t that make it look like a "bathroom" in the hallway?
Does anyone have a good idea for finishing the top edge?

Just search for Schluter angle profiles. There is a wide variety available. Black, white, silver, chrome.
Glossy, matte, brushed. Rounded, flat, angular.
You can choose the one that suits your taste best.

Or simply a matching tile border

A border tile is just a tile, right? How do you finish it at the top, basically on the edge that you can see when looking at it from above? On the edge of the tile that is glued to the wall with adhesive.

The border is the finishing touch. There are also rounded edges available. And if you think it doesn’t look completely neat, then use an acrylic sealant joint where it meets the rest of the wall, as it can be painted over.

Some also simply paint directly over the tile edge. It depends on how the edge is finished in the end.
