During renovation work, a hole was drilled into the ceiling to pass a cable with its conduit through. The diameter is 40mm (about 1.6 inches) (see attached picture).
The ceiling is made of hollow clay blocks and polystyrene, and possibly another layer of materials I cannot identify.
When running the cable conduit through the hole, what is the best way to seal it afterwards?
Should I simply use mortar? PU foam? Something else? If so, which type or brand would be recommended?
Does the entire gap need to be filled, or is sealing just the points where the conduit passes through sufficient?
Thank you in advance for any advice to a non-expert :-)
Best regards
