Hello,

I have a quick question regarding the necessity of a vapor barrier.

In a heated extension, which is used in summer and only occasionally in the colder winter months—usually maintaining temperatures around 8–12°C (46–54°F)—I have removed old wooden panels (about 40 years old) and now want to install drywall.

On the other side of the wall is a boiler room, which stays around 15°C (59°F) in winter.

Should I install a vapor barrier behind the new drywall? My thought was to prevent the drywall from absorbing moisture.

Best regards

Problems occur when warm air condenses in a cavity that is colder. Since it worked with the wood paneling, it will also work with drywall. You can use the green ones.
