Babsbi8Hello,
I am planning to create an opening in a wall between an adjacent apartment and a hallway to install a door (760mm (30 inches) wide).
Using a wall scanner, I detected metal inside the wall at a height of 1950mm (77 inches), spanning the entire wall width (about 1200mm (47 inches)) and approximately 10–15cm (4–6 inches) high.
I have removed the plaster on the side of the adjacent apartment starting from this point. See the attached image.
Question: Does this look like reinforced concrete?
If so, would an additional lintel not be necessary?
Thank you
