Hello,
I am currently planning the bathroom (here, it’s called "badkamer"). Unfortunately, the bathroom has a difficult layout. There is a niche measuring 160cm (63 inches) in length and about 100cm (39 inches) in width. Would it be possible to install a walk-in shower there without flooding the bathroom when in use? 160cm (63 inches) in length seems quite short to me, as there would only be a glass partition of 110cm (43 inches). The shower entrance would be on the long side.
Or does anyone have other ideas for this bathroom? It should include a shower and one or two basins. Additionally, a radiator and possibly a cabinet for storage are needed.

Thanks, al3x. What you wrote is quite clear.
In this thread, the idea came up that I could install both a shower and a bathtub. That would be possible, but I’ve dismissed that idea again. I really don’t take baths often, so it doesn’t seem worthwhile to me. So there’s plenty of space left for the shower. If I go with 180cm (71 inches), the shower always seems to break up the room somehow. Hmm, where is the best place to position the shower? You could still use the 1.65 x 1.00m (5 ft 5 in x 3 ft 3 in) niche as a walk-in shower with a glass door on the side for entry. Either you build walls for the entire 1.65m (5 ft 5 in) length, leaving just enough space for a shower door, or you make the whole 1.65m wall including the door out of glass. That would make the shower very bright—though it would require more frequent cleaning.

Bertram1005 Jan 2020 17:33I initially didn’t want a door because I want to avoid extra plastering work. The hinges and such tend to look worn out after a while. But having a door is probably the simplest solution. Alternatively, I could place the door in the niche and position the shower in front of the current door. Moving the door would give the bathroom a more pleasing shape. Unfortunately, the interior walls are already built, and relocating the door would incur additional costs.

Bertram1005 Jan 2020 19:37danixf, I also chip off the tiles. But it only takes about half a minute. Your shower looks really nice – wall plus glass. It looks good and is probably practical. I would like to avoid doors, hinges, and corners on the shower screen. How big is your shower?

One side has a wall 2.10m (6.9ft) high... but we also have an extra recessed light inside the shower. That’s how you avoid doors and hinges... avoiding corners will be difficult.

And how many useless posts from 11ant does this thread need?None at all. That’s why I have only made one post here (#9), which serves to link to the crosspost – but you could have done that yourself.https://www.instagram.com/11antgmxde/
