Hello everyone,
I am currently starting to renovate an older house. Part of the renovation includes installing a new heating system, and I came across the Vitovalor PT2 fuel cell heating unit.

Does anyone have experience with this or a similar device and is willing to share their insights with me?

Best regards!

Yes, I have already gained some initial experience with it. My system has been running since 8/18. As the outside temperature dropped accordingly, the Bien-Zenker system has been running all day long (77 starts since then). In summer, I couldn’t really use much heat.

I have now received my first electricity bill and used more than 1000 kWh less electricity, with a refund issued.
The gas bill is still pending. Compared to my Eurola from 1998, the heating system itself is very sensitive. After the hydraulic balancing, initially almost no heat reached one room. However, we have managed to fix this by now. I had to completely relearn how to control the radiator valves.

Customer support from Viessmann is more than lacking, but I am used to that.
The app for "control" can at best be described as poor. It constantly fails and only provides access to the temperature settings and switching times of the heating/hot water system. The fuel cell or the energy generated is not visible.

Initial technical issues with electricity meters and BUS errors are not a problem. Spare parts are still not available after 8 weeks!
So far, I am satisfied.

Best regards,
Heiko
