Good morning everyone,

I installed vinyl flooring in our house.

Brand: Parador
Subfloor: Seltibloc

The subfloor is screed. Since we combined three rooms into one large space, there was a transition at the old walls. I leveled this transition extensively with leveling compound. There is a slight slope, but it spreads over about 3 meters (10 feet).

Yesterday, I noticed that the installed click vinyl is pushing and buckling against itself along the short edges. However, this happens where the floor is flat and no treatment was done to the subfloor. Along the edges and around cut-outs at corners, I always left at least 5mm (0.2 inches) gap. You can clearly see there is air everywhere and the flooring is not touching the walls.

The warping also appears in the middle of the room in some places.

The entire floor level measures 10 meters (33 feet) in length and 9 meters (30 feet) in width. The flooring was installed without any expansion joints because according to the manufacturer, joints are only necessary starting from 11 meters (36 feet).

The floor warps both in areas without any weight (empty spaces) and in places with furniture, for example in the kitchen.

This morning, the issue was less noticeable than last night, but some areas still show waves while others are perfectly flat.

The flooring was stored at room temperature for 4 days before installation. It was installed about 8 weeks ago.

I hope you can help me.

Thank you in advance.

The floor expands and bulges upwards. Due to friction, heavy furniture, etc., it cannot use the space at the edges. Expansion joints would be a solution here. Therefore, I would always recommend fully gluing vinyl flooring.

Did this happen because of the heat and will it go back to normal, or will it stay warped?

The floor is already fully installed. Can I still do anything about it afterwards?

Installing expansion joints can also be done afterwards. Please upload a photo of the room.
