Hello everyone,

We are currently planning the flooring for the house we bought. While we are certain that we want oak parquet in the living/dining area and also in the bedrooms, including the children’s rooms (even though our children are no longer very small, they will still use these rooms accordingly), we tend to prefer vinyl in the converted attic and especially in the finished basement. These areas also lead directly to the garden. The flooring installer also recommended vinyl for these spaces. He gave us a pallet of vinyl flooring from his supplier, and visually we like the natural oak option best. This looks very similar to the parquet we have chosen. However, I would like to know if anyone here is familiar with the brand (onefloor Europe Home Concept 30). According to the description on the manufacturer’s website, it has very low VOC levels and is phthalate-free, with formaldehyde classification E1. I could not find any Blue Angel certification. It seems to me to be of acceptable quality, but I am a complete layperson in this regard. I often see Parador mentioned. I assume the flooring installer offers that brand and maybe no others.

According to the manufacturer’s website, this vinyl can be installed directly over tiles. What are your thoughts on this?

We also have onefloor and are satisfied. Installed without a carrier plate and directly glued.

@Müllerin Did you notice any plastic smell at the beginning, or was it fine? That’s something you often hear about.

no smell – I think the wall paint smelled more like "freshly painted" 🙂

We have just covered our entire house (except storage and wet rooms) with Parador vinyl. No unpleasant odors, headaches, or anything similar.

But if you're going to use plastic anyway, you might as well choose laminate. It doesn’t contain quite as much plastic and is much more affordable...
