What is your opinion on the potential risks associated with vinyl flooring? For example, concerns about plasticizers and similar substances. We were planning to install this type of flooring in the bedroom and children's room as well. When researching online, there are a wide variety of opinions. Especially consumer tests by organizations like Ökotest don’t give these flooring types a good rating. Isn’t parquet flooring also treated with chemicals during its manufacturing process? What about cork? How do you assess the risks from your perspective, and what would be a "healthier" alternative, if any?

I want to bring this thread back up because we are currently dealing with the same topic.

Does the Blue Angel label actually provide information about the contents of the flooring, or does it only indicate that the product was produced in an environmentally friendly way? I’m definitely not an environmentalist, but even luxury vinyl flooring must contain plasticizers, right?

Yes, they are bound and should not or only minimally emit gases. Ventilation is essential.

I am not a fan of this plastic flooring; we have it in the basement and hardwood flooring in the rest of the house. Hardwood is much more comfortable in every respect.

There is a website for the Blue Angel where the award criteria are published. You will find your information there.

You have a good instinct—trust it. Just don’t buy any flooring that has a strong odor.
