Hello everyone,
Since I am currently looking for a suitable flooring, I am exploring the market. As can be seen from the related thread, a glued vinyl floor has, among other things, a high-quality appearance and better walking and stepping characteristics compared to the click-lock variant.
The downside is that it may not be possible to install it yourself, and due to the difficult removal, it is not very flexible.
Now I came across a self-adhesive underlay that could potentially combine both positive properties.
My question is, is this really the case, or is this option more in the category of "neither here nor there"?
P.S. I am aware that this cannot fully match the properties of a wet-glue installation, but a close approximation would be sufficient for me.

What exactly do you mean by "uneven"?
And why should a dry-lay method—though not as noticeable as adhesive bonding—be considered (quote) not a good idea for installation technique?
Are you familiar with this method from practical experience?
I am. And not on a DIY basis, but professionally.
So: be careful with such quick judgments just to get something down on paper!

wwibb620203 May 2020 22:25Hello, I am currently looking for experiences with self-adhesive soundproofing underlayments, such as the silent stick from Planeo. Has anyone else installed their vinyl flooring using this self-adhesive insulating mat and can recommend it (or not)? DerZert already asked the same question in 2017. Perhaps there are more experiences by now?
