ᐅ Video doorbell—on which wall should it be installed?

@Araknis Thank you for agreeing that you definitely have to think carefully about where to place everything.

Once the cables are installed, you can no longer change that.

Currently, our favorite option is:

Green for mailbox and video doorbell
Red for ekey

For me, @netuser already gave a clear and understandable answer in the first post and also followed up. Yesterday, I was surprised that the topic actually reached over 9 pages.

On the subject, my answer aligns with @netuser’s. The (video) doorbell should be placed on the side where the door handle is. Then positioned frontally so it can capture a direct view and be able to see clearly.

This is different before, during, and after the coronavirus pandemic anyway. And as a stranger, you behave differently at the door than a friend does. The depth of the entrance threshold and the space between the door and the street also matter. Plus, from which direction you come—left, right, or straight on.
Our strangers also stand differently than friends.

By the way, the pattern used for laying flooring on the platform can also influence where visitors choose to stand. Most people can be guided this way, much like cats...

@Tolentino We cannot influence the pattern in which the bricks are laid. From the outside, all the houses must look the same.
The only things that can be customized are the lamps, mailbox, doorbell, and plants in front of the house.

The mailbox must definitely be green.

We are still unsure about the doorbell, deciding between blue and green.

For the ekey system, we are deciding between red and blue.

@BobRoss Thanks for the tip, but I'm not sure if we are allowed to install it flush-mounted since we would have to remove some of the insulation.
