Hello everyone,
I am currently considering which video door entry system to buy for our single-family house on a hillside.
I find the video feature very useful since our living and dining area is located in the basement, so you don’t have to go upstairs every time the doorbell rings.
There are many versions on the market, and unfortunately, they vary significantly in price.
Do you have any recommendations on which ones to buy?
What do you think about this one?

benkler14015 May 2017 11:24What I wanted to mention is that we were interested in the Gira system 126967 and could get it at a very good price. However, we have often read online that the video quality is very poor. Now the question is whether this system, or specifically the compatible indoor unit, is really that bad and if it might be possible to replace it with an indoor unit from another manufacturer?
Best regards

We will most likely go with the Somfy V 400 with 2 indoor units. However, there are only a few reports available about it.
Hello,
I'm joining this discussion as we are currently in the shell construction phase.
What kind of wiring do most video door intercom systems require?
Do I need network cables (CAT7) at all relevant points (driveway gate, front door, and indoor station), or is the standard wiring suggested by the electrician sufficient for video door intercom systems?
Also, is it possible to integrate my IP cameras into such a system?
Best regards

We have changed our plans again. We are now planning a 2-wire bus video intercom system from GOLIATH with a flush-mounted outdoor station and 2 indoor stations. It is described quite well on the website.

Andre-Jana17 Jun 2017 13:49I basically like the Goliath system as well. However, at least based on the pictures available online, I don’t find the outdoor unit very appealing.
Does anyone have a photo of an installed outdoor unit?

Thanks for the explanation, one more question:
2N states a horizontal viewing angle of 120° for the camera.
...But if someone stands right in front of the door, I can’t see the person anymore. I would install an additional camera slightly offset from the entrance, for example a Mobotix DualFlex S15/S16 with a 180-degree panorama, then you can see EVERYTHING in front of your house facade.
...By the way, these cameras are also available in a "vandal-proof" version! And sometimes you can find refurbished ones on eBay for a very reasonable price.
