Hello everyone,

I am currently considering which video door entry system to buy for our single-family house on a hillside.
I find the video feature very useful since our living and dining area is located in the basement, so you don’t have to go upstairs every time the doorbell rings.

There are many versions on the market, and unfortunately, they vary significantly in price.
Do you have any recommendations on which ones to buy?
What do you think about this one?

Good evening, community,

Since our developer went bankrupt earlier this year, I have to gradually fix or install some things myself.

Currently, it's about the doorbell system with video and, if possible, fingerprint access.

I have a question regarding the fingerprint and front door. As far as I can see, our front door has an electric strike for the doorbell. Is that enough to enter the house using the fingerprint, or do I need a special lock or locking mechanism installed in the door?

I hope that the fingerprint works similarly to the door opener function from the indoor unit and that the latch then buzzes, for example, for about 5 seconds. Am I correct?

Outside leads a green 4-core cable. According to my research, it should be an EIB cable 4x0.8mm (0.03 inches).

All cables (EIB) end in the fuse box:
Outside -> fuse box
Electric strike -> fuse box
Inside ground floor -> fuse box
Inside upper floor -> fuse box

Is this wiring sufficient for my plan?

Thank you very much for your help.

Regards,
Michael

Of course, it all depends on the equipment installed in your system. The EIB cable alone doesn’t provide much information.

Hello and happy new Mycraft,

nothing has been installed at all. I now need to focus on purchasing a doorbell. Financially, it hasn’t been possible in recent months due to the insolvency and overpayment of the developer.

So far, only the above-mentioned wiring is in place. My question was whether it is possible to use this wiring?

Ah, okay, I understand. You can repurpose the EIB cable and use it for any 2-wire doorbell system.

Hello, I tried three different ones and the best for me is the Busch welcome. Picture and sound, including software, are simply perfect.
