Hello, today I had to wait for an hour and only had my notebook with me... so I just doodled a bit.
This is my very first draft of the ground floor, and it probably still has quite a few mistakes.
What I’m curious about is whether there are any major errors here (for example, the staircase?).
North is at the bottom right.
One square represents half a meter (0.5 m / 20 inches).

that I can already picture the finished rooms in my mind, with a pool table in the basement, a pantry with wooden shelves, a nicely lit straight staircase,... If you already have positive images of your basement in mind, you will probably only get that by actually building it. I couldn’t really follow the argument of using it as a spare TV room.
Comfortable basement rooms are roughly as expensive as living spaces; any possible "discount" for lacking a view of the outdoors is not convincing. And you can’t just spontaneously retreat to a typical cold basement to watch TV when other guests are over—you have to plan a few hours in advance because of heating. In a traditional basement, you have to heat against the utility-room design; otherwise, even if the temperature is technically sufficient, it still feels "cooler." The party basement from the days when I was young, in my opinion, belongs rightly in the history books.
I generally lean toward "if in doubt, build with a basement," but when I read that the geological conditions of the plot are rather unfavorable, I would rather warn against likely trading relatively low "efficiency" in terms of living comfort for the construction costs.

MIA_SAN_MIA__13 Oct 2017 13:16That’s how we’ll do it. The first appointment is in calendar week 44. I haven’t received any feedback yet on the other inquiry with a different architect...
PS: I know we can be a bit stubborn and want exactly what we have set in our minds... It’s not always easy.

MIA_SAN_MIA__30 Nov 2017 16:27It already looks quite well progressed, down to nicely designed details like the laundry chute.
Hopefully, the terrain will be adjusted differently than shown in the drawing; otherwise, you would need an off-road vehicle for the first two meters (6.5 feet) of the driveway.
I would do the section in front of the terrace as drawn and have the area in front of the door and gate gradually slope up from the street.
Try copying the ground floor onto an aerial image of the property.
I would shift the kitchen linearly to align the straight wall in the ground floor and basement with the one on the upper floor. This won’t affect the terrace but will save a lot of structural effort. You don’t have to give up designing the kitchen as a visually separate building element for that.
