Who else here has a ventilation system and experiences air that is too dry? Unfortunately, we are all currently dealing with bronchitis and are concerned that it might be related to our ventilation system. We would be very grateful for any experiences or advice on what we could do!
We have a Pluggit Avent P300 ventilation system, now 10 years old. In winter, the indoor humidity level is around 20%. Despite daily showers, drying laundry indoors, and using small humidifiers in the living room and bedroom, we never managed to get it above 30% and experienced stuffy noses all winter. Since this year, we have been using the Pluggit AeroFresh Plus and no longer have any issues. The humidity level is exactly as we set it. We are very satisfied. This also means we don’t have to raise the heating (underfloor heating with an air source heat pump) as high.
Hello, we are supposed to get a Nilan Comfort 300.
Without humidity recovery!
Nilan does not offer that option.
I spoke with them today.
Nilan says that humidity recovery is not necessary. In winter, you can simply reduce the system’s output as needed. This way, the air is not completely exchanged, and the humidity increases!
Turning off the system is also possible!

That would be like going to a car manufacturer and saying, "The fuel consumption figures don’t match," and the manufacturer responding, "Then you just have to drive more slowly."
With the same logic, they could have said, "You could also just leave out the system entirely, then you wouldn’t have any problems with air that’s too dry."
You can only shake your head at that.

Turning the system off is also possible!
And in summer, you need to switch it off to prevent too much heat from entering.
