ᐅ Ventilated facade and expanded polystyrene (EPS), protective insulation layer for the facade

Hello, I have a question for the experts...
Regarding the setup mentioned above, does the polystyrene insulation need an additional vapor barrier, or can it be applied directly to the facade without any protective layer?
