Bauherr am L18 Jan 2020 16:07Hello everyone,
We have chosen a color for the window frames. It will be a fine-textured paint from Tiger. Now I have discovered that the same color from Tiger is also available as “high weather resistance.”
Does anyone know what this means in terms of quality? Should we definitely choose the “high weather resistant” version?
Thanks and best regards!

This manufacturer is already a leader in these products. We have successfully used it at the largest airport in Germany. Even the standard coatings are advertised as "highly weather-resistant" (whatever that means) and they are already quite good. The officially highly weather-resistant coatings (which are also more expensive) contain an additional additive (I’m not sure) based on epoxy resin. The brand also has a very good website with a support hotline. Naturally, they are biased, but it never hurts to ask.

For the airport project, did you use the standard Tiger colors, or the officially weather-resistant ones?
Specifically, we are dealing with DB703 in fine texture. There is the (standard) coating 29/80077 for facades, etc., and also a weather-resistant variant 68/80045.

We chose the standard paint, which was already really good. However, once the construction site is finished, I will be away again. I am currently at home until the weekend. Is the price difference really that significant compared to the house? Personally, I would opt for the higher-quality paint, even though I can’t justify it with exact figures right now. If desired, I can look into it.

So far, we don’t have any figures on a possible surcharge, but it certainly adds up across the window frames, front door (also in our chosen color), the roller shutter cladding (Warema), the parapet flashing (which is also supposed to be painted), as well as the garage cladding (also metal sheets with the same coating)...
