Hello everyone,

I have been thinking about this topic for some time now, and I’m not sure how to prioritize everything since many great options are available, but they also come with corresponding costs.

The house will definitely have an electric garage door and electric roller shutters, which is not unusual in itself. Soundproofing and burglary protection are very important to us due to the location of our plot (edge location directly adjacent to a railway track).

For the windows, we will choose a higher frame depth model (82mm (3.2 inches)) for an additional cost, with RC2-N security class throughout, as well as aluminum roller shutters. We are also considering a film system designed to prevent easy shattering of the panes. In our window contract quotation, there is an additional item listed: “High-control magnetic contact for electrical monitoring.” Can anyone explain what this means? I have heard there are systems that automatically lock everything or close the shutters in case of vibrations or glass breakage.

Roller shutters can be time-controlled, but I find it inconvenient to go to each window switch or program each one individually. Is it possible to install a central switch that allows programming or raising/lowering all the roller shutters on the ground floor with a single action?

Additionally, we have decided on a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery. Here, too, I wonder what control options make sense. Would one control panel per floor be advisable?

Lastly, there is the front door, specifically the “automatic/electronic locks.” Could someone explain the added costs and benefits? Unfortunately, this option was not included in our offer.

Thanks and best regards

Hello,

What is the reason behind this choice?

You probably mean certified RC 2 or higher?

Definitely.

Regarding the roller shutters, my thoughts are that they should be higher quality, look better, be more stable, and offer better security. They are also insulated (though I’m not sure if that makes a significant difference).

The offer includes RC 2 N security class, 6-12 security locking points, anti-lift protection, drill protection, and a lockable security handle. The matter of the film is a separate issue, which we would source independently.

Best regards!

Yes, we have a central control per floor with an astronomical function. You can set the shutters to operate based on sunrise/sunset or at a fixed time.

I find this very practical. Downside: each timer has to be programmed separately.

I also recommend having two panels. Unfortunately, we only have one on the ground floor. However, we only use the control panel to activate the ventilation function. The rest we manage through the web interface of the controlled ventilation system.

"High-control magnetic contact for electrical monitoring."

This simply means that a magnetic contact sensor will be installed, allowing you to see whether the window is open or closed. Alternatively, it can be connected to an alarm system.

Roller shutters can be operated either via a wired system (which can get expensive without the electrician having the necessary expertise) or simply with radio motors and a corresponding remote control system including features like an astro timer.

Which controlled residential ventilation system will be installed? Sometimes only one control panel is possible due to system limitations, but with current models featuring web servers, many functions can be managed via PC, tablet, or smartphone.

In that case, it might make sense to opt directly for RC2 (without the "N"). At least you can compare the costs with the foils.
