Key facts:
Timber-frame house
Year built 1899
Roof covering replaced in 1999
Underlay membrane beneath clay tiles
We are currently insulating the sloping ceilings of the upper rooms in our house.
We used Isover Integra ZKF-1-035 with a thickness of 200mm (8 inches).
Now we are wondering about the vapor retarder. Should we install one or not?
According to the U-value calculator, it seems essential.
Although I thought that the clay building boards and clay plaster we still need to install would have a regulating effect.
If we should install a vapor retarder, I was thinking of Isover Vario KM Duplex or XtraSafe.
Maybe I also entered something incorrectly in the U-value calculator.
