ᐅ Utrusta electric door opener IKEA: How do I remove the clip?

Hello, when I take the Utrusta pressure door opener (non-electric) out of the packaging, the metal clip that is supposed to be clipped on after installation is already closed. However, this clip needs to be removed for screwing it in. I just can’t manage to get it off. Is there a trick? The manual doesn’t explain it either...

No no no no no, don’t remove the metal part, you’ll break the thing.
Inside the packaging, to the right of the pressure door openers, there are two plastic strips. These are screwed into the cabinet, and the pressure door openers are clipped onto them.
