Our house roof was covered with flat Tegalit roof tiles. However, instead of using standard verge tiles at the edges, black verge flashings were installed.
I checked the houses in my street, and none of them used flashings for the edges. Question to the experts here: Is using flashings acceptable, and are there any advantages or disadvantages compared to standard verge tiles?
Thanks in advance.

I'll note that down. I have these verge flashings as well. At first, I was surprised because that wasn’t what I originally wanted. However, I accepted it because it really looks good. They also did a great job with the connection to the roof tiles.

It is important to ensure that these verge flashings are installed underneath the roof tiles.

I have just seen this as well and was wondering why they use metal sheets. But here is the explanation for my question.

So this evens out the transition, which I think is not a bad solution.

Hello,

Thank you for the suggestion. Next year, we will also have verge tiles installed. If the joints don’t fit perfectly, they plan to use metal flashing as well. If it looks good visually, why not.

My neighbor also used this verge flashing. I have the same, and it provides a neat finish. I have seen this several times now; it seems to be the current trend.
