Hello,

I have a question about building a basement.

Is it possible to build a basement with usage class A according to design principle C, or is that generally not recommended? Or would you actually say that this is the common practice?

I mean design principle C with an additional waterproofing layer already planned.

H10 guideline – waterproof concrete structures.

Thanks for your feedback.

How does he plan to make the foundation slab watertight? Does he want to prevent cracking, and if so, how?
What is the intended method for the additional waterproofing?

Is that all the information you have?

For the floor slab, he plans to use C25/C30 concrete and then apply a Gefitas PE3 / 300. After that, standard insulation and impact sound insulation.

He said that you can never completely rule out cracking, even with design principle a.

If there are cracks, he would apply
- Webertec 901 (primer)
- Webertec Superflex 2K (liquid waterproofing membrane)
- Weber Sys 981 (reinforcing fabric)

to repair them. This applies for both c and a.
