Hello everyone,

I have noticed moisture on our breathable roofing membrane, and while investigating the source, I came across the following issue (see pictures below).

Does anyone have an idea where this might come from, whether this is normal or intentional, or if there is damage to the breathable membrane?

If there is damage, how should it be properly sealed? This extends over several rafter bays and it looks like a piece of metal is sticking out there.

Thank you very much for your help

Please show this to a carpenter or roofer. That doesn’t look normal.
