Hello, is it possible to install larch, pine, or spruce floorboards over underfloor heating? These types of wood look great and are also cost-effective.

We also want floorboards laid on sleepers. Our house builder says it’s not a problem with underfloor heating. He would make the screed slightly thinner. But to be honest, I do have my doubts and would appreciate any experiences shared here in the forum.

Maybe you have already made a decision? Your forum post is from June. I’d be very interested to hear.

Best regards, Steffi33.

I consulted both a master carpenter specializing in plank flooring and a flooring specialist. Both confirmed that softwoods are not a problem. However, the glued-down method is always recommended, along with a low supply temperature.
So far, the only type of wood that everyone has advised against is beech.

We don’t have floorboards now, but mahogany parquet downstairs and beech parquet upstairs, both fully glued down... and apart from the floor being a bit cooler compared to tiles, we haven’t experienced any problems.
