ᐅ Underfloor Heating – Subfloor Construction?

Good evening!
We urgently need advice. We have already researched online but have come across different statements:
Mid-terrace house, built in the 1960s, floor removed down to the concrete.
We want to install underfloor heating and have heard about dry construction underfloor heating systems. But basically, we have the following questions:
- How is the subfloor build-up usually structured? Sub-base layer – insulation – underfloor heating – screed – floor covering?

- Why does the underfloor heating need to be installed under the screed? Would it also work if installed above the screed?

- Is there anything else important to consider?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Why drywall? Where will the underfloor heating be installed? Insulation can go under the underfloor heating, but also under the basement ceiling as an alternative (this way you don’t lose any room height).

Tell me more about what and why you are planning.
Oh, I expressed myself poorly. Only in one room was the entire floor covering removed, including the screed. In the other rooms it wasn’t. That’s why installing a dry construction system would be easier.

I think that’s just a rumor.

Yep.
Heated basement? How do you plan to insulate under the underfloor heating? How much space do you have? ==> It’s clear that proper insulation is a must. Otherwise, you’re basically heating the basement.
“Installing a suspended ceiling” means, for example, buying 60/80/100mm (2.4/3.1/3.9 inches) rigid PUR insulation with aluminum foil facing. Use PU adhesive foam to simply stick the panels to the ceiling. This is very cost-effective, costs a few hundred euros, and makes a big difference.

Have you had the heating system designed yet? Room-by-room heat load calculation and specification of the desired room temperature. Make sure to keep the supply temperature as low as possible.

Why not do it in all rooms while you’re at it?

What material we want to use for insulating the floor is a good question. So far, coconut mats have been used for insulation there.

While we're at it: can anyone recommend a good manufacturer for a drywall system? The internet is full of options, and we are completely overwhelmed.

No, we haven’t installed anything yet. Because we haven’t even been able to decide on a supplier.
