Which type of heating system would you prefer?
The underfloor heating would cost about €8,000 more. Is it worth it?

Besides, with underfloor heating there is less convection, meaning less dust is stirred up. Good if you have allergies. No and no.Underfloor heating causes convection currents rising up to about 1.00 m (3.3 ft); allergy sufferers are well advised to lay a carpet over the underfloor heating.

The additional cost seems quite high to me personally. The radiators and piping that are eliminated don’t come for free either. However, not much information was provided. I haven’t observed any convection or drafts in my case, but our flow temperature last winter never exceeded 30°C (86°F).

The underfloor heating would cost about €8,000 more. Is it worth it?The question needs to be asked differently...!"Do I (that is, you) want radiators?" — that’s the correct question. The answer: if you say "yes," make sure the building permit / planning permission and the KFW subsidy application (the date the KFW receives the application counts) are submitted this year. From 01.01.16, radiators might no longer comply with the energy-saving regulations for houses.
PS: I would tell the supplier to take a hike; radiators and underfloor heating are now almost comparable in price. But it seems your focus is more on the bottom line than on economically sensible equipment for the single-family house?

The biggest advantage of underfloor heating, in my opinion, is that it provides an even warmth throughout the room. With radiators, it’s usually very hot right in front of the heater, while at the other end of the room you can feel cold. Also, where do you even place them? They always get in the way, and sooner or later the desk, bed, or even the sofa ends up in front of them.
Nowadays, I actually consider underfloor heating almost mandatory. I would never want to live in a house without it again. The only radiators we will have are in the attic, because the effort and cost of installing underfloor heating there were too high for us.
