Hello,
We are installing underfloor heating in our KfW 55 house and are now considering whether to use tiles or laminate flooring.
Do you have any experience with this?
Which one feels warmer on the feet during summer, and which one in winter?
We don’t want our children to have cold bottoms, but I find carpet too unhygienic.
Thank you very much 🙂!

Laminate is plastic. I find it worse as a seat covering than a carpet you can throw away after three years because the kids end up sitting on the chair anyway. Tiles are cold in summer unless the sun warms them up. That feels pleasant on warm days.
However, a note: both surfaces, including parquet and others, are hard. There is a reason why people often have rugs on the floor. It’s fine with baby fat on the knees, but once that’s gone, a small rug, no matter the floor type, is always preferable. Thank you for your comment!
We would provide play rugs on the floor anyway. But the little ones crawl and walk all around the house, and I don’t want them to have cold feet all the time. Otherwise, they/we would just always have to wear non-slip socks, which you probably get used to. Maybe we could put another carpet on the tiles in the living room for playing… We’d have to see.

I don’t find our vinyl floor either slippery or cold; quite the opposite, actually. But it definitely depends on the product. You can always check it out in person at the store. That’s recommended anyway, also for laminate or tiles. Oh, we will definitely do that! Right now, it’s more about the basic decision "tiles vs laminate vs vinyl." But you’re absolutely right, I would never order something like that online without caution—at least I’d request samples. Most likely, we’ll go to a local store.

The term "resistant to advice" is starting to be overused: I really find it difficult to accuse someone of being resistant to advice just because they have their own opinion (for example, about the staircase). For instance, I also just want a straight staircase :Hexe1717 schrieb:

I can definitely recommend vinyl.
