Hello! We are planning to build a prefab house. We intend to use a dual heat pump system and initially wanted underfloor heating in both bathrooms. Now we have been told that this is not possible because of the pipe installation, screed, and level-access shower...! Why is this not possible now? Thank you in advance!

Do I understand correctly that you only want underfloor heating in the bathrooms? How are you planning to heat your other rooms? Since you are planning a heat pump, underfloor heating throughout the entire house would make more sense.

If your floor construction isn’t thick enough, then a flush-level shower cannot be realized.

Yes, the problem will lie in the foundation design and all the resulting height differences.

This means a completely different house is needed, and the prefabricated house supplier simply does not accommodate that.

Yes, that was the plan, and it was initially said that it would work that way. We cannot install underfloor heating throughout the entire house because my wife's feet swell from it.

@Pritam ... has your wife ever tried modern underfloor heating systems? At the flow temperatures, you can just barely feel that the tiles are not completely cold. This is not comparable at all to underfloor heating from the 1980s.

Yes, we do! Unfortunately, she has very sensitive feet. I would have liked to have one everywhere!
