ᐅ Underfloor heating with an air-to-water heat pump. House gets too warm when the sun is shining.

Hello everyone,
I have a general question.
We moved into our new build four months ago. The living area on the ground floor has three large floor-to-ceiling windows facing south. We have underfloor heating and an air-to-water heat pump.
It provides a really comfortable temperature inside the house, but we have a problem – whenever the sun is shining in winter, even if it’s -2°C (28°F) outside, the temperature suddenly rises to 24°C (75°F) in the living room. It gets uncomfortably warm in here, and the underfloor heating can’t be turned down quickly.
Should we assume that the large floor-to-ceiling windows are responsible for the heat gain? A photo of the south-facing side of the house is attached.
What would you do – always lower all the blinds as soon as sunlight is forecast? That seems quite annoying...
We have motorized blinds controlled by Somfy. Would you consider buying a sensor that automatically lowers the blinds at a certain temperature?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Unfortunately not, we have performed a restart. The plumber is coming tomorrow.

Daniel-Sp20 Mar 2020 08:47Hello,
chewbacca123 provided me with the DTA file, and I have reviewed it carefully.
If the data recorded in the DTA is accurate, which I assume it is, the heat pump is basically operating correctly. The compressor has been off since about 7:00 AM. The temperature trends for domestic hot water, supply, return, and heating gas appear normal and plausible. The pumps also seem to be running properly (at least they are being correctly controlled by the Luxtronic). The temperature curves also indicate that the ZIP, HUP, and ZUP are being correctly controlled and functioning. I cannot verify what the display shows, especially since the displayed temperature does not match any temperature readable from the DTA data.
Let’s see what the plumber says.

The plumber was here and could not detect any irregularities – this is confirmed by the DTA.
I will continue to monitor!

@chewbacca123 how did it turn out for you in the bathroom, now that the nights are getting cooler again? Did you find a solution, or are you now using a programmable towel warmer and heating with electricity directly in the mornings?
As much as I feel sorry for you – I have learned a lot from you throughout this thread! I’m trying to apply this knowledge in my planning now and... well, my heating specialist seems to be of the same kind as yours.

Good morning, unfortunately the bathroom is not really getting warmer, the towel warmer has to be turned on. In the next life, in the next house, we will definitely keep that in mind. But I’m glad that at least we could help others with this. I will keep at it and continue trying. Regards
