Hello everyone!

I’ll briefly introduce our construction to give some background:
- New single-family house with a general contractor – stepped story with a double garage attached to the house
- Topping-out ceremony completed
- Facing bricks with insulation behind are already installed; window installation will follow soon
- Roof insulation and garage roof work have already started; completion is expected next week

Here is a reference for the building method (however, we have a flat roof on the garage, not tiles):

Two-story red brick house with garage on the left, gray roof, columned front, and green garden.

Now the uncertainties:
1. The weather is getting worse, so moisture is getting through the garage roof, as apparently only the first layer of the roof was installed (it feels like felt). The wooden structure underneath is now getting wet, as is the wood already stored on the site for the roof insulation. Will the wood still dry out, or is it already a problem if it remains wet for a longer period?
2. The insulation behind the facing bricks on the ground floor towards the roof insulation is covered with foil, but that doesn’t necessarily make it waterproof. On the weather-exposed side, rain runs down the wall and definitely reaches the insulation. The insulation should handle some moisture since it is water-repellent – could it still become damp if it rains for a week?
3. On the hip (ridge), no hip caps were installed, but it was sealed only with Wakaflex. Could this cause a leaky roof, or does such sealing hold without problems? Photo attached:

Visually, it’s hardly noticeable since the house is tall enough, and the appearance is not important to me – my concern is purely functional. Is a hip cap mandatory?

We have already discussed this with the GC, who said none of this is a problem and that we don’t need to worry about moisture or damage. Nevertheless, I would like to get additional opinions.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards

Hmm, they always say that... I would have the construction supervised by a sworn expert.
