ᐅ U-shaped kitchen: How to fill the gap

Hello,

Our Metod has been standing around for a while now... eventually, we need to close the gaps.
Our kitchen is arranged in a U-shape. The long side of course never matches the exact measurement to be completely filled with cabinets. So, there’s always a gap somewhere where a filler strip (I think that’s what it’s called in the planner) should go.
But where can I get one? Ideally, it should be the same color as the cabinet fronts.
And how do I attach it?

Best regards

Instead of sawing and chipping away, it would definitely be better to mill out a 3cm (1.2 inch) wide strip from the door using a router.

Yes, I had already thought something like that.
If you could get the coating like that... my friend can handle the base structure, meaning the board—he’s a hobby carpenter (and a pretty good one)..... I need to have a talk with him... he also needs to make the corner panel for the corner cabinet, since there’s nothing like that available from IKEA.
In fact, quite a few items are missing. The next thing that comes to mind is the base for the kitchen island. It’s included in the planner and the parts list, but that piece doesn’t exist at IKEA at all.

Let me know when the hobby carpenter has found a good solution.

Recently, there is something available for the island. Are those the parts from the planner?

Wood beam with two galvanized metal angle brackets for mounting.

Metod
Support bracket for kitchen island

Long wooden strip with drilled holes; two metal angle brackets at the end.

METOD
Assembly kit for kitchen island

Which additional panel fits the corner cabinet?

In the other corner, we have this cabinet:

Black wooden base cabinet, left door open, right door closed, visible hinges.

METOD
Corner base cabinet carcass, black wood effect

In the corner, only the black carcass is visible, to the left a door, to the right a drawer... it also looks awkward.

However, that should be the smaller issue... Miter cut the top panel, glue and attach it...

Two corner cabinets are definitely not ideal in this case.

Your plan doesn’t show which cabinets are exactly placed in between.

An IKEA expert has suggested something like this before: Would it be possible to shift all the cabinets to the right (of course only if there are no cutouts in the panels) next to the carousel cabinet? Then you would only need a filler panel on the left side.

Alternatively, you could make the best of the situation, for example by filling the free space with a small shelf or perhaps installing a pull-out towel rack there.

If I move one of the cabinets about 8cm (3 inches), then on one side the countertop is 8cm (3 inches) lower....

1. It looks really bad
2. The countertop is custom-made by Ika.... and it costs nearly four digits
