Hello everyone,

What do you think of the following window from the company Trefz? Does anyone know it? What should we consider when choosing windows? It is intended for a new build with exterior walls made of Poroton T10 clay bricks.

Plastic window S8000 with rebate seal (exterior view)
Thanks to the classic 74 mm (3 inches) window design with 4- or 5-chamber plastic profile technology, the S8000 with rebate seal is recommended for installing double or triple insulating glass panes (Ug value 0.6 W/m²K) as well as soundproof and burglary-resistant glazing. A continuous frame and sash rebate seal ensure optimal tightness. A special feature is the weather-resistant, matte polished acrylic layer on the outside, which gives the S8000 its elegant color finish.

Best regards

I would say that the so-called "classic" 74mm (2.9 inches) construction is more accurately classified as "outdated technology" or basic standard. Constructions of 80mm (3.1 inches) and above are more state-of-the-art.

Good luck

Yep. Construction depth 82 mm (3 inches) and 7-chamber profiles

Interestingly, the current scope of work specifications also always include models with the name extension 82.
For example, in our case:

1. Veka Softline 82
2. Schüco Corona SL 82
3. Rehau Geneo 82

While we’re at it, are there significant quality differences between these three options?

Sound insulation is very important. Make sure to get the mandatory values for that! Thermal insulation is handled well by almost all nowadays. Installation is another matter, as well as whether the windows look acceptable aesthetically.

Where are you supposed to get mandatory values from? - Deficiencies in sound insulation are much more due to installation errors than product characteristics.

What should be considered during installation regarding soundproofing?

@emer already gave some good tips about burglary protection on page 1.
