Hello,

In an existing building, after removing the laminate flooring, I noticed a crack in the hallway that extends across the entire width of the hallway.
The plan is to install glued-in hardwood flooring afterwards. Should I repair this crack, and if so, how?

Regards

2-component adhesive. There is a special type for this. We had the same issue back in 2001 in a terraced house. However, it has long been sold.

The screed is so uneven that you cannot glue down parquet flooring. Leveling compound also seeps into the crack, possibly with additional mesh reinforcement.

Levelling compound comes later. However, it would close this break point, meaning the crack, but then it will crack again. This can negatively affect the floor covering.

To what extent can a crack in the screed negatively affect the glued hardwood flooring?

Probably nothing will happen. But it is possible that there is movement in the screed that transfers to the hardwood, causing the adhesive to crack.

Aside from that, the screed looks in the pictures as if it still needs to be prepared (leveling compound or sanding). Hardwood adhesive is applied so thinly that it cannot compensate for any unevenness, unlike tile adhesive.
