Hello everyone,
According to our site manager, the groundwork at our site could start in three weeks.
We haven’t booked any vacation yet, but we would like to travel for three weeks at the end of July.
Were any of you on vacation during the construction phase, or is there a specific period or stage when one should definitely be present?
Or can we just go away without any worries?
I asked the site manager, and he just said, “go ahead” 🙂
How did you handle this?

One thing after Corona, how nice, we can finally stop the annoying 1.5 m (5 feet) distance rules here in SH and go back to the usual five meters (16 feet). We had taken a break during construction. Fourteen days, why not, announce it, leave a mobile number, and off you go.

Appreciation doesn't help when someone lacks the necessary skills or is working under extreme time pressure (the boss breathing down their neck). And unfortunately, there are far too many cases like that nowadays... Of course, even with careful selection of contractors, you can have bad luck. It's always a matter of probabilities. It makes sense to try to influence those probabilities in your favor.

blubbernase10 Jun 2021 00:10I’m wondering how we’re going to manage this... We have a 500 km (310 miles) trip to the construction site, a full-time job, and two children (3.5 and 1 year old). The building inspector is already booked. Still, it won’t be more than once or twice a month. Of course, someone else can drop by sometimes, but that won’t be us...
