Hi,
Recently, the vapor barrier was installed at our place. The workers either forgot their measuring tape or just glued some random debris to it. We don’t want to make a big deal out of it since the screed will be applied anyway. But aside from the fact that I find it quite sloppy, could this cause any problems?

It’s hard to see in the photo, but the raised area is clearly noticeable – roughly the size of a measuring tape.

Hi,
an uneven substrate causes a weakening of the screed in this area. In the worst case (I don’t know the screed thickness or the dimensions of the unevenness), this can lead to cracking under point loads. What do the workers and architect say about this?

I would have the poor workmanship removed while it’s still possible and make sure the vapor barrier is properly sealed again.
