ᐅ Trash bin in Ikea Maximera drawer, 40 cm wide

Hello IKEA fans,

For my new kitchen, I have planned a base cabinet with a waste system cabinet. It is a 40 cm (15 ¾ inches) wide drawer cabinet. This has a 40 cm (15 ¾ inches) high drawer located directly under the countertop. I want to place one or two trash bins in this drawer, but I am confused by the VARIERA system because IKEA does not provide exact measurements. The brochures only show 60 cm (24 inches) and 80 cm (31 ½ inches) wide drawers.

I would like a suitable solution without much modification and hope for your experience. Which Variera bins fit into a Maximera drawer that is 40 cm (15 ¾ inches) wide and 60 cm (24 inches) deep (the internal dimensions are smaller; I haven’t measured them yet). The external height is also 40 cm (15 ¾ inches).

I found a third-party system that I would have to shorten in two places to make it fit somewhat. That would be plan B.

Hello, two 18-liter (4.8-gallon) buckets should fit one after the other. The easiest way to check is to try it out in a furniture store.
