Hello everyone,
our construction is progressing well, and from time to time there are questions that can be perfectly discussed in this forum. I have the following issue that I can’t seem to solve on my own and hope for your help.

It’s about the transition from a brick facade to an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) with plaster. How should it be correctly executed? I have two sketches; which option is preferable regarding thermal bridging caused by the metal sheet, or is it negligible? Does anyone have experience with this?
Thank you

This is how we solved it (drawing by the architect):

Thanks for the reply. So, the zinc covering is not a thermal bridge?
And one more question, is there no wooden board under the covering, or was it just not shown in the drawing?

No idea 😉 – but I believe there is wood under the covering. The thermal bridge is probably negligible.
This way you can be sure that no water gets into the cavity insulation when it rains.
