HausamBerg21 Feb 2025 08:455 meters (16 feet) away from our driveway and 11 meters (36 feet) from the nearest planned corner of the house, there is a 630 kVA transformer station intended to supply the new housing development. It is located to the north, beside the property.
Are there any experiences regarding radiation (magnetic field)?
Has anyone built their house very close to such a station?
Best regards

Are there any experiences regarding radiation (magnetic field)? Of course – that’s what the radiation protection agency is for.
They will reliably assure you that at a distance of 11 m (36 feet) you can no longer measure anything, let alone that it would have any effects… except that you are the first customer and therefore get the freshest electricity (just kidding).
It is said that a maximum of 100 µT (microtesla) can be measured at the wall of the transformer station (maximum limit), which already drops below 1 µT (microtesla) in your garage area. The only thing we noticed once was that when a transformer station was located between the car and the remote control for the parking heater, the remote sometimes malfunctioned. On the parking lot next to it, nothing was detectable anymore…

Are there any experiences regarding radiation (magnetic field)?Yes, plenty. That’s exactly why the little house is located where it is allowed to be.HausamBerg schrieb:

I haven’t heard of any radiation-related deaths in the last 30 years. Also, not a single tenant (it’s a multi-family building) has reported any problems or is wearing a tin foil hat.M

(...)Um. I often spend time in areas where the prohibition sign P007 "No access for persons with pacemakers or implanted defibrillators" is displayed.
Magnetic fields can indeed be dangerous.
On the other hand, you can be fairly sure that a transformer station like this is not dangerous even for people with pacemakers, since there is no such sign posted. Otherwise, the station would have to be fenced off at an appropriate distance all around.
