I placed the house on the plot, so it fits well.
I would orient it this way if financially possible, and add a few more windows, including in the stairwell area, to allow the house to benefit from sunlight. If that’s not preferred, orient it as you want. But just having the utility room located directly for access makes things a lot easier. And yes: swap the living room with the kitchen, so the kitchen is next to the terrace and the chill-out area is more sheltered.
However, I did notice that some windows are missing. Solid walls can quickly feel quite confined.
With the example carport position, the house and garden are protected from the curve and passing cars (headlights), yet south- and west-facing windows bring plenty of light into the house.
Regarding the windows: sometimes another builder might be worth considering if windows are not so sparingly included in the scope of work. Our general contractor was not much more expensive than Town & Country, okay, a little bit, but we were able to include plenty of windows, which makes the house feel higher quality. Thank you very much for the illustration and the effort in creating the sketch. It really helps me to visualize everything much better 🙂
That’s a good point about swapping the living room with the kitchen so the terrace is more sheltered.
Unfortunately, only Town & Country is possible, as the plot is sold together with it 🙁
But I will definitely address the window situation.
You’re welcome!
What exactly do you want to address? The standard house design only includes these windows in the base price. If you want something different, you need to say: I want natural light here and there—meaning some nice large windows with access to the terrace. How much does that cost?

If you want something different, you need to specify: I want natural daylight here and there—so, some nice large windows with terrace access here and there. What would that cost? That’s what I meant by addressing it. I will ask about the cost of additional windows and where these would even be possible.
