ᐅ Top edge of the ground floor level = top edge of the terrace? Does this make sense?

zovima15Hello, our planner suggested building our house so that the top of the ground floor floor level is the same height as the terrace and the surrounding area (lawn, driveway, etc.). This would also mean that no step or platform would be needed at the main entrance. The advantage would be better accessibility, and stepping out onto the terrace would be more comfortable.
Is there any reason not to build this way? Flood risk is not an issue for us since the neighborhood where the house is located is already elevated.

If the house is raised by 10 to 15 cm (4 to 6 inches), a local flood (heavy rain and sewer overflow) is almost impossible. The top edge of the terrace and the top edge of the front door platform can then be level with the finished floor level. From the terrace and front door platform, there should be a slight, barely noticeable slope towards the ground level.
