Hello,

I have a problem with the door handle where a spring has either broken or popped out (see picture). The door handle has a set screw that I can remove to take the handle off. However, the lower part is driving me crazy. Does anyone know how to unscrew or open the lower locking mechanism?

Best regards,

If there is no small screw securing the cover from underneath, try turning the cover completely. Try both sides.

I assume this is clipped. On one side, the panel should have a notch at the bottom—use a flathead screwdriver to insert into the slot and pry it off. After that, it should be self-explanatory.

Hello.
Yes, Tolentino was right. There wasn’t a slot, but after I got the screwdriver underneath it, I was able to pry off the cover. The plastic is a bit scratched, but the lock is out now 🙂. You can see the spring is broken. I’ll just get a new one.
Thanks to everyone!

Hey Uli!
Don’t worry, we’ll get this sorted! A broken door handle can be really annoying, but I’m here to help.
Okay, you’ve already removed the top half of the door handle, that’s great! Now it’s time to work on the bottom part. Sometimes there’s a hidden screw, maybe under a sticker or something like that. So take a close look.
If you don’t find a screw, try gently wiggling or pulling off the handle. Sometimes the parts are just clipped together and can be released that way.
There are also door handles with a clever locking mechanism that can be opened by pressing or turning. So give that a try.
If you really get stuck, it’s not a problem! You might be able to find instructions or a manual for your specific door handle online. That could help.
But before you start trying everything, be careful not to damage anything. If you’re unsure, it’s best to get help from a professional.
I hope you find a solution for your door handle problem soon! Good luck and don’t get discouraged!
Best regards!
