Bau-Teufel6 Jul 2014 12:27Hello forum,
I just received a notification email from a third-party company that the blower door test is scheduled for next week. I’m not quite sure I understand this, since we only had the screed installed last Thursday and will only start ventilating next week. Is it even sensible to perform the test at this stage? I’m concerned about forcing moisture into all the cracks, especially since the interior walls are still in their raw state (timber frame construction) and haven’t even been plastered or finished yet.
Thanks in advance!

It is best to carry out a building-related blower door test even before the screed is laid, as this allows any leaks beneath floor-to-ceiling windows and at the entrance door to be identified more easily. It is important that the airtightness layer (vapor barrier in the roof and possibly the wall) is installed and as accessible as possible.
