Our home construction company leaves it up to us whether to build with or without an installation shell (installation casing). What would be the recommendation regarding this?
Best regards, wanderjupp

I would definitely not build without an installation cavity.
A lot of effort is made to make the "main insulation layer" as airtight as possible, so why would you then pierce it with numerous holes for outlets, lights, pictures, etc.?
An additional insulated installation cavity with OSB boards plus drywall in front allows for easy mounting, even of heavy cabinets, using standard screws. No anchors or similar fasteners needed.
