I will soon be installing a new kitchen and have the following question:
The depth of the upper cabinets in the Metod series is always given both with and without the mounting rail (e.g., 59cm (23 inches) vs. 60cm (24 inches)). This means that at the top mounting point, the cabinet with the mounting rail always stands one centimeter (0.4 inches) further away from the wall than without it.
From what I understood in the assembly instructions, the same spacer is always installed at the bottom of the cabinets. If the cabinet then protrudes one centimeter (0.4 inches) more at the top than without the mounting rail, does that mean the cabinet will tilt forward?
I assume the tilt is probably not enough for the dishes to fall out when opening the door. Or are the cabinets designed so that without the mounting rail they are slightly tilted backward, and with the mounting rail they are level?
Thanks for your answers!

Johannes_28541 Mar 2016 16:18Thanks, Affe, you seem to be the only one who understood my question!
Is leaving out the spacers just a guess, or is it actually an error in the assembly instructions?
In Ikea’s "press release," it says that the Metod series, unlike its predecessor (Faktum), features ventilation. I could imagine that this refers to the spacers and that they therefore do not serve as a leveling or balancing element. Or are there ventilation slots milled somewhere in the carcass (or similar)?
