Hello to the experts

I would like to know

Are there special tiles available?
Is an epoxy resin kitchen countertop recommended or is it rather risky?
Tiles on wood or Wedi boards
Please provide professional advice on the best approach
Thank you very much

Our ceramic countertop (which we ultimately did not choose) could, in principle, have been made up to a maximum width of 160cm (63 inches) with any length. The only limitation was the kiln used for firing. Since it is a tunnel kiln, basically only the width is limiting.

Regarding the thickness, I take back my previous statement. I was actually sure it had to be at least 20mm (0.8 inches), but I’m open to correction.

We are also getting 12mm (0.47 inch) ceramic tiles. However, both slabs are shorter than 320cm (126 inches). So unfortunately, I can’t help further, except to confirm that they are available that thin.

I don’t remember offhand. I need to check at home.

My first thought was also: if tomato sauce spills there, how long would it take to clean it out of the joints?

One second? A quick swipe of your hand?
So: just as fast as any other surface. My current kitchen standard is more sensitive.

Oh, right.... everyone!
Here someone is asking how to do it because they want to.
Not whether it’s cool or uncool.
You’ve never even had one yourselves... so....
