We are constructing a new building with a general contractor who is managing all trades. Despite our instructions and prior bathroom planning, the trades involved in the bathroom did not coordinate properly: the plumber did not provide the measurements for the bathtub, the drywall installer made the niche for the bathtub too small, and although the tub fits, the tiles around it no longer do.
The tiler then simply placed the tile on the edge of the bathtub, which does not look reasonable at all. Does anyone have experience with this and can tell me:
1. Whether we have any legal claim or entitlement here, is this considered standard practice? Or does it just look bad and we have to live with it?
2. Does anyone have an idea on how we could visually improve this?
Thank you!

He should have reported the defect to the following trades; now it will get expensive. Who is responsible for the structural inspection?
So, report the defect and demand correction.
Here is another example. You can see even more errors, but those would be acceptable.

Sometimes it's better to keep things in perspective. Just apply silicone joints and call it done, I would say. During our house construction, there were also a few spots where I thought the craftsmen could have done a neater job. But if it doesn't cause any follow-up damage, I believe sometimes you just have to let things be. Craftsmen are human, too. They have good and bad days. Why does everything have to be immediately criticized? Common concerns from non-experts here are: compliance with DIN standards, state of the art, lawyers, compensation, defects, etc.
The media also plays a significant role in this, at least some of it. Not every building contractor and not every tradesperson is dishonest (I am not a tradesperson). People make mistakes, and with large projects like building a house, mistakes happen. Have a nice Sunday.

We approved almost everything and are slowly losing the willingness to pay a lot of money and just accept everything as it is. Especially for the additional tiling work in the bathroom, there were exorbitant prices involved.
Maybe there is a simple and cost-effective solution, and someone has an idea: For example, removing the tiles above the bathtub and painting with a waterproof membrane? We are very bothered by image 1 (edges and tiled bathtub rim).
