Hello everyone,
We will have tiles installed on the ground floor. We originally planned to have the baseboard made from the same tile material.
However, someone suggested using a simple white wooden baseboard instead.
How did you solve this? Photos are welcome 🙂
Thank you!
PS: Please no general discussions about tiles as flooring.

For example, we excluded our "tile package" from the house construction and had a local tiler do the work. This allowed us to choose the tiles and baseboards ourselves and pay half the price compared to the home builder. We were able to select the tiles and baseboards ourselves but are having the house built "turnkey" in the sense that the tiler, plumber, electrician, etc. are contracted through the construction company. We were concerned about not being able to find tradespeople in these times and have only recently moved to this area, so we don’t have personal contacts here. Of course, we knew this would cost more, but for us, it was less stressful.
We were free to choose the materials ourselves. A specific tile package was included in the house price, and the builders hired by the company were responsible for the installation. We couldn’t select these workers, but they were all from the local area. Adding special requests, such as extra rooms with tiles or other coverings, would have exceeded the budget. Therefore, we excluded this service and hired local craftsmen instead. Of course, this could only be done after the house handover. 😉

I really don’t like tile skirting anymore… Even in the bathroom, we have white wooden baseboards. We also use the same baseboards with our hardwood floors.I always enjoy looking at it, very tasteful and – or perhaps especially because it’s without any unnecessary frills. Great!M
Martial.white1 Dec 2021 19:40We will have white wooden baseboards installed along the tiles on the ground floor.
We also have white baseboards to match 120x30cm (47x12 inches) wood-look tiles. It goes very well with the "fake parquet" style.
As for tile skirtings, we find them extremely sterile; especially in the living area, they were definitely not an option. They are more suitable for bathrooms or laundry rooms.
