Tiling board or just floor waterproofing? What are your experiences? Our bathroom specialist prefers to waterproof the floor and then tile it. I personally lean towards a tilable shower element, as it feels safer to me! But is that really the case? What are the pros and cons?

I would guess that the tileable curb is only available in certain (standard) sizes. When the floor is waterproofed, you can plan completely custom. We chose the latter and have had a good experience so far. :-)

Hello,

both of our showers will also have a waterproofed floor that will then be tiled.

As K1300S already mentioned, curbs are only available in certain sizes – with our shower in the family bathroom, measuring 1.0 m x 2.3 m (3.3 ft x 7.5 ft), that would not have worked well.

Dirk

Then take that. ;-) Once again: I prefer traditional waterproofing. Also, you’ll have a screed floor in the shower, which simply feels more solid underfoot.

Good luck
