Hello, we are currently in the process of choosing tiles. We have already decided on the tile itself, but we are still unsure about the size. :-(

Could you please share photos of tiles that are as gray as possible and include the dimensions?

Preferably for the entrance area or hallway.

Thank you in advance.

I have 17x34 in the hallways and kitchen :-)

Please write again how wide your entrance area is.

Just Google "ceratrends tiles hallway" – you'll find a great visual example of using different tiles in the same hallway (30cm x 30cm (12in x 12in) / 30cm x 60cm (12in x 24in) / 60cm x 60cm (24in x 24in) / 60cm x 120cm (24in x 48in)) – and also in various colors.

Well, the dream can’t be that vivid if you can’t even remember its name.

It also depends on the room... 60x60cm (24x24 inches) or larger might look good in a large living room, but probably not in a narrow 1-meter (3.3 feet) hallway.

Large tiles actually work really well in small rooms because there are fewer grout lines.

But in a room that is about 5.3 tile widths wide, the number of full tiles dominates compared to partial tiles; in a room that is about 1.3 tile widths wide, partial tiles dominate.

If the “dream” tile is only available in 60x60cm (24x24 inches), that would be a major drawback for me, since it means you can’t switch to smaller sizes like 60x30cm (24x12 inches) or 30x30cm (12x12 inches) in smaller rooms. Also, large-format tiles emphasize the proportions of length and width in a room.

Tiles are planned for the entrance, which is 3 x 3 meters (10 x 10 feet), the hallway, which is 1.2 meters (4 feet) wide and 6 meters (20 feet) long, and for two bathrooms measuring 5 and 12 square meters (54 and 129 square feet), as well as the kitchen, approximately 10 square meters (108 square feet), which opens into the living room.

I am not sure if I like square tiles measuring 60 x 60 centimeters (24 x 24 inches). Also, I want the narrow hallway to appear wider.

This is my biggest concern—the 1.2-meter (4-foot) wide hallway.

Then avoid the model that is only available in 60x60 and choose one in three formats: 60x60 in the large hallway and living room, 60x30 (with the longer side perpendicular to the hallway axis) alternating starting left and right, and 30x30 rotated 45° for the kitchen and bathrooms. For the question "why?" you will be overwhelmed :-)

I find the topic of tiles quite challenging, especially when you finally find your "dream tiles" (price and quality should not be overlooked) and they come in the format 60x60cm (24x24 inches), but then you have to look for others again.

We had exactly the same issue, if you can even call it a problem :-) You can also lay the 60x60cm (24x24 inches) tiles diagonally, which makes the room appear larger. And if the tiles don’t have that effect, you can emphasize it through furniture, artwork, etc.

The most important thing is that you actually like the tiles.
